Description: ACTFL’s 6 Core Practices are thoughtful and sound ideals for World Language Educators, but which steps, resources, knowledge, and strategies does it really take to develop engaging and effective units that weave them together? In this workshop, teachers will collaborate on the design and instruction of global thematic units using comprehensible language strategies. They will interact with curated authentic language and pedagogical resources to develop communicative activities and proficiency tasks for all three modes in the target language that incorporate research-based assessment options for which teachers can provide appropriate feedback. Participants will work with hands-on resources that will be shared via the WAFLT website. Please bring a computer in order to fully benefit from the online resources.
Target Audience: World Language Educators (K-16); this workshop will be conducted in English Location: Westside School, 10404 34th Ave SW, Seattle WA 98146
