Presenter’s Biography:

Dr. Rob Darling started his teaching career in an intensive early intervention autism program, then taught early elementary for 6 years. He is currently principal of the state’s largest K-2 school in Selah, WA, housing 850 students and 90 staff members. Along with starting a dual language immersion program in Selah, Dr. Darling also spearheaded the district’s social-emotional learning efforts, adopting the Sanford Harmony program preK-5th grade (in partnership with CityU of Seattle), providing intentional and systematic Multi-tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) procedures for assessing the SEL well-being of students and staff on a bi-monthly basis, and creating one of the state’s first SEL teacher specialist positions. He is an adjunct professor for Heritage University and CityU of Seattle, serves on various state-level education advisory boards and task-forces and presents throughout the state as an expert practitioner for SEL and dual language programs.
